Special Note: Due to power upgrades, on Saturday, May 2nd we will not open until 1 pm.
We invite you to experience our award-winning wines for yourself. We offer visitors a self-guided tour of the winery and complimentary tastings seven days a week, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding major holidays. (Get driving directions to the winery.)
Following is a preview of what you’ll discover when you visit us:
A self-guided tour of the Columbia Crest winery
begins outside, where harvested grapes are gently pressed to split their skins. The winery is surrounded by vineyards enabling us to pick and crush grapes at their peak moment of ripeness. The time of day when the grapes are picked and crushed depends on the variety, ripeness, and the winemaker’s intentions for them.
If you visit during harvest, you’ll have an opportunity to watch our crushpads in action and to peak into our cellars..
Moving onward you will visit the barrel room,
just off the lobby. Here you will both see and smell what is the completed product of the fermentation process. At this stage many of our wines (both red and white) are placed in oak barrels to ensure they slowly arrive at their full maturity. This photo shows the special barrels we have for our reserve red wines.
The final stop on your self-guided tour is the Columbia
Crest tasting room, where you can try many of our wines. You can also browse the available books and gifts, and perhaps purchase a mixed case of your favorite Columbia Crest wines. Adjacent to the tasting room you’ll find a magnificent patio, perfect for a picnic.
